What is RIDE?

RIDE is a charity that provides drug and alcohol education programmes written within the National Curriculum Guidelines for PSHE for young people of school age

Unique Bottom Up Consultative Approach

The programmes were written not only with much consultation of experts in the fields of education and drug addiction and rehabilitation, but also with much consultation with students of the relevant ages so that the lessons have been well pitched. Volunteer sixth formers from participating schools interviewed the students as this encouraged the students to open up about their experiences to date without fear of reproach from a teacher or expert. This bottom up approach was invaluable in helping RIDE volunteers understand the breadth of the temptations experienced by the young people of today.

RIDE programmes are versatile

RIDE has four programmes. They can be used as a series or they can be used separately. They can be used as a whole term's PSHE teaching, or dipped into.
